Background
My name is Megan Jones and I am a fourth-year dental student from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry seeking a position as a general dentist upon graduation and licensure in May 2021. I am looking for a career opportunity where I am able to hone my skills as a dentist and learn from those who are able to mentor me as I start out. I’m hoping to find a position in a family oriented, patient focused practice that can meet the needs of a small community within a larger area.
As part of my dental school curriculum, I have two years of clinical experience averaging 2-3 patients a day. My academic and clinical training has given me a strong foundation and lots of experience triaging patients, conducting interviews and taking histories, performing dental and oral cancer screenings, and proposing diagnoses and treatment plans. I feel that my training in clinic has prepared me to contribute as a valuable member of the dental team. I value each and every patient that has taken the time out of their day to come see me and trust in my hand skills for their care. I enjoy forming connections with patients and hearing what their dental goals are so we can work together to come up with a reasonable and affordable treatment plan. I pride myself on helping my patients feel like they are able to come to me for all treatment and establish their dental home.
My husband and I will be relocating to the Ann Arbor area after I graduate in May. I would love to find a practice that puts patients’ needs first and establishes strong relationships between the patient and provider.
